For years on the DEI After 5 podcast, I’ve ended many conversations with the same question:

“What do you do to fill your cup?”

It started as a simple closing question. A way to shift the conversation from the challenges people face in their work to the practices that help sustain them.

But over time, something interesting happened.

The answers stayed with me.

Guests talked about spending time with family, hiking, journaling, reading, dancing, taking long walks, setting boundaries with work, reconnecting with nature, and sometimes simply learning how to rest again.

None of the answers were complicated.

But they were intentional.

And that intention matters.

Because many of us spend our days pouring into others.

We show up for our teams.
We support our colleagues.
We advocate for change.
We care deeply about the work we do and the people around us.

That kind of work is meaningful. But it also requires energy.

Without moments of restoration, even the most passionate among us can start to feel drained.

That realization stayed with me long after many of those podcast conversations ended.

Eventually, I realized that the question I kept asking guests was also something we should be asking ourselves more often.

What do you do to fill your cup?

That question became the inspiration for something new.

I recently created a guided reflection journal called 101 Ways to Fill Your Cup.

The journal is inspired by the practices people shared on the podcast and insights from the DEI After 5 community. It’s designed as a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the small practices that help restore our energy.

You don’t have to read it cover to cover.
You can open to any page when you need a moment to reset.

The book is now available for pre-order, and I’m excited to finally share it with this community.

You can learn more here.

And whether you decide to pick up the journal or not, I’ll leave you with the same question I ask my guests:

What do you do to fill your cup?
